HOROSCOPE & ‘MANGALI-DOSHA’
While matching the horoscopes of the girl and the boy, one must not only match “the Ashtakoot-Milan” but alongwith it the ‘Mangali-Dosha’ should also be examined carefully. The ‘Mangali - Dosha’ should neither be exaggerated so as to create fear in the minds of the girl’s parents nor it should be avoided. People have a wrong notion that it is very difficult to search a mangalik girl or a mangalik boy. As a consequence, despite knowing about the Mangali - Dosha in their child’s horoscope, the parents deny about it to the other party. But such parents must know that the reality is that out of 12 children, 5 children have mangali-dosha in their horoscope. Hence, about 40-42% of the children are ‘Mangalik.’ Therefore, it should not be treated as a problem. For this, all those Parents whose sons and daughters are of marriageable age, they must know whether their son or daughter is a mangalik or not? And they should try to know what in reality is a ‘Mangalik’? And what are its various effects of being a Mangalik?
How does one have a Mangalik-Dosha in the horoscope ?
In the birth-chart of a person, if in the ‘Lagan’ (the first house of the birth-chart / ascendent ), the Fourth, the Seventh, the Eighth and in the Twelfth house, if there resides the planet Mars then it is called ‘Mangalik.’ In other words, there is ‘Mangali-Dosha’ in the horoscope of the person concerned. Apart from these aspects (or houses) / (or Bhavas), some intellectuals are of the opinion that the position of planet Mars in the second house is also considered as ‘the Mangalik-Dosha’. In other words, if in the horoscope of the boy, if the planet Mars is not situated in any of these houses then that boy is not a perfect match for the girl in question. And if in the horoscope of the girl, if there is planet Mars situated in any of these houses then she is not a perfect match for the boy in question.
But only this yoga cannot be taken as a cause of death of any person. There are other reasons as well which have to be taken into consideration. After all, why is the planet Mars considered to be an obstacle in the married life of a person? There are other malefic planets as well. It is because the planet Mars is predominantly considered to be a ‘Fire Element’ (Agni Tattava). If the boy or the girl is not Mangalik then the results of this planet are in the form of extreme anger, as a consequence, it can damage the love life of the newly married couple.
Now, we should try to analyse that why in these aspects (or bhavas) only, the situation of the planet Mars is considered to be a damager of the married life?
The 12th house tells us about the martial relations and in this house, the planet Mars hinders the martial life and the sexual relations. The 4th house is related to the happiness in married life and the planet Mars in this house creates problems in the achievement of the martial bliss. The 7th house relates to the spouse (i.e., husband or wife) and here, Mars, creates hindrances related to the mutual understanding between the couple. The 8th house relates to the life span of the wife or husband and here the planet Mars decreases the life span. The presence of Mars in any of these houses or the reflections of Mars on these houses damages the married life of a person by creating problems from time to time.
How to tackle ‘Mangali-Dosha’?
If there is malefic Mars in the horoscopes of both – the boy as well as the girl, and there is ‘Mangalik-Dosha’, then in such a situation, if they get married then this Mangalik-Dosha is being checked by itself, and this type of match is considered to be the best match.
Otherwise, if from amongst the two of them the boy and the girl-only one of them has Mangalik-Dosha and in the other horoscope, from amongst the first, second, fourth, seventh, eighth and twelfth houses any one has Saturn or Rahu in it, then also the malefic effects of Mars, decrease (or diminish).
