He was born in a Kshatriya family in Jallandhar. In his childhood, he shifted to Delhi with his parents and completed his basic education in Delhi. Since his early age he was of religious and philosophical thought and nature . Along with the knowledge which he accumulated from the acts of his previous birth, from the established values of his family and from the teachings from his teachers, he continued his search for his Guru (Mentor). 

In the year 1991, through books, he came in contact with teachings and thought of Acharya Pandit Shri Ram Sharma . In the same year, he took the Diksha - Divine blessings of knowledge from Guru Mata Bhagwati Devi Sharma . Influenced by the rational and logical thoughts of Pandit Shri Ram Sharma, Dr. R.B. Dhawan though a kshatriya , continues to distribute the teachings and values of astrology dedicately like a Brahmin . 

His interest in Astrology, Ayurveda and other subjects of astro knowledge, complimented his silent, philosophical & religious nature, which was gifted to him since his childhood .He obtained the degree of Ayurveda Ratna from Hindi Sahitya Centre, Allahabad and Jyotish Bhushan & Jyotish Pragya from Sri Lal Bahadur Shastri Sanskrit Vidyapeeth, Delhi.

Together with the blessings of Gurumata, and his good deeds of his past & present life, today he has a true knowledge of all aspects of Indian astrological science. He has differentiated between an Astro Chart and a correct Astro Chart, and has also explained the differences beteween Astrology & Karma -Kanda.

For the purpose of distributing the beneficial teachings of Astrological science, he has taken upon himself a difficult task. Under this , he has planned to give detailed training of different approaches to the Indian School of Astrology, which includes Parashar approach, Jaimini approach & krishnamurthy approach. Together with above, he also plans to give training for Mantra therapy, Stone therapy and about making & reading of Astro charts i.e Horoscopes. He also plans to publish an Astrological Magazine for the purpose of distribution of fruitful teachings of Astrological science to the whole of mankind.

Philosophy of astrology is not only an art, but is a stream of science through which one can not only get monetary benefits, but also happiness, peace and fame. It can act as a tool in the process of accomplishing difficult tasks.

It is widely believed that astrology is nothing but a modern gimmick, and is only a method of fooling people. In regard to this I want to state truthfully, that if you get suggestion from a person, having true knowledge of astrology, you can experience benefits, just by performing small rituals and rites. Due to absence of true and knowledgeable astrologers, one does not want to act on the remedial measures suggested by the science of astrology.

I, appeal to you all ,that never understand the meaning of astrology as performing difficult and expensive rituals and rites. Instead consider it as a simple method of cure, giving physical, mental and spiritual satisfaction.
